C: He had been experimenting with using cheese slices as poker chips, but ended up eating his winnings when he accidently hid some between two slices of bread he had been provided as a snack
D: He was having an afternoon potluck gathering with his pals the Earl Grey, the Earl of Mayo, and the Earl of Shrewsbury. Earl Grey brought a pot of tea. The Earl of Mayo brought a lightly whipped spread comprised of oil and egg. The Earl of Shrewsbury brought thinly sliced pieces of roast beef and cheddar cheese. The Earl of Sandwich contributed a single loaf of bread. The Earl of Shrewsbury took a sip of tea, pulled out a knife, cut the bread into 8 slices, slathered some of Earl of Mayo's concoction on them, slid a slice of roast beef and cheese between two bread slices, bit into it and smiled. The others followed his actions. Earl Grey asked Shrewsbury "what do you call it?" Before he could respond, Sandwich chimed in "Look, no one's going to want to eat a Shrewsbury, so let's just call it a Sandwich."
